The hours passed and negotiations continued between the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. As Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical advanced, both teams resumed the talks early in the afternoon and seemed intent on reaching an agreement in which the big names would be Ricky Rubio and Derrick Rose.
Apparently, the Knicks were looking for something else in the exchange and the Wolves, covering their backs, offered Ricky Rubio to more teams. In the end, the New Yorkers seemed willing to accept a direct transfer, but the Wolves did not pull the trigger.
Other rumors suggest that Knicks and Wolves finally reached an agreement when there was no time left to execute the transfer.
